Iteration and Illustration: Building S/S 2027

Collections often begin in my mind and then expand outside it. It starts with an idea, then followed by a line, a drape, a seam. S/S 2027 started as a set of sketched outfits exploring how many different ways a look could be laced up. That tension between being tied together and tailored, became the whole season.

Iteration then becomes material: several sewing samples, technical flats, and fabric swatches. There is an ongoing negotiation between what the imagination wants and what the material will actually allow. Silhouette looks effortless on the page and argues with you on the stand. I have learned to find compromise with both the mental and material.

Some of the work takes inspiration from the ateliers I am working toward — the creative and influential fashion houses of Paris and London. I want each look to read as resolved, not always decorative for its own sake.
